Torre Velasca returns to its original character thanks to a restoration project that combines conservation, respect for history, and new contemporary uses. The project, developed by Hines and overseen by Asti Architetti in collaboration with CEAS, ESA Engineering, and ARS Aedificandi, has given the city back one of Milan’s most recognizable icons, enhancing the language of 1950s interiors through authentic materials and originat techniques.
The Project
Cesare Roversi menaged the custom production distributed across 26 floors. A two-year project that required craftsmanship, precision, and fidelity to the original design, with the aim of preserving the historical and architectural value of a symbol of Italian modernism. More than 650 doors, 850 fan coil covers, the restoration of the lobby mahogany boiserie, and the creation of six solid oak staircases on the 26th floor, based on the original design.

They have been crafted from the original design, with shaped mahogany frames, lacquered wood panels, and milled grilles.

Restoration of the Lobby boiserie
In the lobby, several historical elements were also restored, including the distinctive mahogany slat boiserie cladding the elevator walls and the original floor signage.
